Do You Believe?
Acts 2:14-41 John 5:24-25 Romans 10:9-10 1 Peter 1:3-5
During the month of April we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are now over 2000 years from that event. It can be easy to lose sight of the truth and meaning of something that happened so long ago. I am bound by God to ask a most obvious question - Do you believe in Jesus Christ and that he was resurrected from death?
There are also several other questions that must be asked today!
1. Do you believe that God created the world and everything in it?
2. Do you believe that Adam and Eve sinned and that we are affected by their sin?
3. Do you believe that God has a solution for the problem of sin
4. Do you believe that God sent Jesus to be our Savior?
He died for our sin
He was resurrected from the dead
He walked the earth
He ascended into heaven
He sits with God today
He will come again
He will judge between believers and unbelievers
5. Do you believe that there is a heaven and a hell and that hell is our destiny if we have not given
our heart and soul to Jesus Christ?
6. Do you believe to the point of being saved?
7. If you are saved, are you sharing the resurrecting power of God with those around you?
The moment we die our eternity will be fixed. There will be no second chance. Once we pass through the curtain of death, our decision in this life will place us in heaven or hell. Death can separate us from God forever or it can bring us together with God eternally. For those who believe in and accept the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for their salvation – there will be a bodily resurrection and life everlasting in heaven.
The power that created the world –
The power that healed the sick –
The power that raised Jesus from the dead –
Is the same power that can raise people from sin and death and destruction to a new way of life!
That same power can empower us to be true disciples of Jesus.
That same power can help us to live a victorious Christian life.
That same power can help us witness of our faith in Jesus Christ.
Let us take the good news of the resurrection of Jesus Christ wherever we go!
